Description:
A medium to large size, broad, stemmed point with a short to long contracting base. Shoulders form a straight line and are horizontal to downward and outward sloping. Stems have contracted, straight sides and a straight to rounded base. Newnans with Marion-type rounded bases represent a Newnan/Marion cross type and would fall under Marion if the shoulders slope up.
