Vendetta

Description:
A small to medium size barbed-notched triangular blade that has had a second set of notches flaked into the blade halfway between the shoulders and the tip. This style is usually made on larger sized Wallula Gap and/or Rabbit Islands, although other types are sometimes used. The cross section is flattened lenticular. The depth of the second set of barbs varies, and triple notches do occur. These points are well made and usually of gem material, and were locally called "Vendetta" points as they were designed to snap at the weakened halfway point, on contact with bone, cartilage or heavy muscle.
