Bolon Bevel

Bolon Bevel

Description:
A small to medium size, side to corner notched point with early forms showing basal grinding, beveling on one side of each face, and serrations. Bases can be straight, concave or convex. The side notch is usually broader than in Big Sandy points. E-notched or expanded notching also occurs on early forms. Note: Bolens have been found with horse remains in Florida indicating use in killing the horse which was probably hunted into extinction in the U.S. about 7,000 years ago.
