Pluvial Lakes Side Notched
A triangular to lanceolate bladed knife form with a heavy cross-section. Bases are usually concave, but can be straight to convex, and are always ground. Notches, which may include one side-notch and one corner-notch are deep and usually ground. Edge alignment and retouch is by strong pressure flaking and faces show initial reduction thinning flake scars until resharpened several times. This type may be the ancestral forerunner to the Northern Side Notch. Earliest of the side notched types.
