Strike-A-Lite Type I
- Time Period : 10000-3000 B.P.
- Location : Northeastern states.
- Shape : Side Notched
Description:
A small to medium size friction tool made either from scratch or from broken points. The blunt-end of these objects is beveled from both sides, to create an edge for striking a hard object to emit sparks for igniting combustible material for the creation of fire. These are unlike blunts or scrapers of similar form that are only beveled on one side of the face. The striking edge usually shows extreme wear.
