Description:
A medium to large size, auriculate, fluted, lanceolate point with convex sides and a concave base that is ground. Most examples are fluted on both sides about 1/3 the way up from the base. The flaking can be random to parallel. One of |the oldest point types in the hemisphere. Materials used in this area are: Argillite, black flint, chalcedony, conglomerate, coshocton, coxsackie, jasper, Onondaga, quartz crystal, quartzite, rhyolite, shale & upper Mercer black chert.
