Description:
A medium to large size, auriculate, fluted, lanceolate point with convex sides and a concave base that is ground. Most examples are fluted on both sides about 1/3 the way up from the base. The flaking can be random to parallel. Clovis is one of the earliest point types in the hemisphere. The origin of Clovis is unknown. Clovis technology more closely matches European Solutrean forms than anything else.
