- Location : The southwestern states and as far north as Canada and east to northern Indiana. Type site is a bison kill site near Folsom, NM, where 24 fluted Folsom points were excavated in 1926-1928. Being the first fluted point named, for years all fluted point

Description:
A very thin, small to medium sized, lanceolate point with convex to parallel edges and a concave basal edge creating sharp ears or basal corners. Most examples are fluted from the basal edge to nearly the tip of the point. They do rarely occur unfluted. Workmanship is very fine and outstanding. Most examples found have worn out tips or were rebased from longer points that broke at the haft.
