Description:
A splitting wedge. Some in the old world may be 30,000 years old. The bottom cutting edge should be beveled or V shaped. The opposing edge or hammering surface should be flattened or knobbed enough to receive a hammer blow. The larger pieces could be used to split house timbers or planks, or perhaps spear shafts and foreshafts. The smaller pieces could be used to split bone for needles and arrow or small dart points. Look for hammer scars on the edge opposing the "V" or beveled edge.
